Ann Elliot is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, a Certified Professional Practitioner of Animal Assisted Play Therapy®, and a Certified Animal Ethology and Behavior Specialist®. She is also a Certified Trauma–Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapist, a Certified Domestic Violence Counselor, a Certified Criminal Justice Specialist, a nationally rostered Cognitive Processing Therapist and a Conversation for Suicide Safer Homes Instructor. She has been a biblical research student since 1985 and is a beekeeper and enjoys using honey in her recipes and remedies from her Christ Cabin Apothecary, where she teaches classes about nature and healing and Ann’s Animal Acres is where she does her therapy involving horses with Equine Assisted Play Therapy ® with adults, teens and children and involves her dog who is a Certified Animal Assisited Play Therapy (R) in her therapy at her office.
She has two grown children and 4 beautiful grandchildren, who have taught her so much about love and how it can heal. She helped form the Randolph County Suicide Prevention Coalition and serves on their board. She works closely with first responders and serves on the North Central CIT Council board, which she also helped establish.
She has started working with the Angels in the Arena program, which focuses on helping people with spiritual growth and establishing peace and trust in their daily lives with God.

Amber Schilb, M.Ed., LPC-S, RPT
Amber graduated from Columbia College with a masters in psychology and minors in business and sociology. She attended Stephens College graduate program and received her masters of education in Counseling in 2014. She initially pursued her career in agency work before diving into private practice. In agency work, Amber was primarily working with children in the schools via United Way funding and co-facilitated the MEND (Men Exploring Non-Violence Directions) program. She has worked at Lighthouse Counseling Center since 2018. She also worked for Counseling Associates in Columbia, Missouri part time from 2018 until 2021. She became solely private practice in 2021. Amber became CEO and owner of her own business in 2024 and continues to practice at Lighthouse Counseling Center as well as having an office in Columbia and serving clients via telehealth since COVID-19. She takes a trauma informed approach as she is trained in TF-CBT (Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and ITCT (Integrative Treatment of Complex Trauma) and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and also has significant training in domestic violence. Amber is often involved in cases involving children’s division and family custody. She received her RPT in 2024. She has served many roles with the Missouri Association for Play Therapy including vice president for two years, president for two years, past president for three years and is currently a board member. Amber works with ages three and up, including family therapy, couples work and providing therapeutic visits. She loves incorporating play therapy interventions with all persons, including sandtray and expressive arts.
